Story of the McFeeders Name
The story of the name McFeeders is a unique tribute to the founder'seldest daughter.Don Jones, founder of McFeeders Realty, Appraisal & Management L.L.C., raised two daughters as a single father during the late 1980's & 1990's. His oldest daughter, Jennifer, was an outstanding young girl, who graduated from Fort Morgan High School with the class of 1993. Jennifer went on from high school to attend Mesa State College in Grand Junction, Colorado. Some time prior to Jennifer's high school graduation, Don and some business associates were contemplating buying a property on the west side of Ft. Morgan known as the Hogsett Estate and turning it into an 18 hole golf course, complete with a restaurant in the main house on the estate. Don was describing this project to Jennifer one afternoon while driving back from Greeley. The plan was to build an up scale 18 - hole golf course and utilize the Hogsett house for the restaurant. Jennifer listened intently to this proposed project and said "Dad I have a name for the restaurant", to which Don replied "really"? "And what would that be"? And Jennifer said "I would want to name itMcFeeders Hideaway".Shortly after Jennifer went to Mesa State College, she was killed in a car accident outside of Grand Junction. In 1994 when Don was in the process of starting his new business he decided to name the business McFeeders Realty, Appraisal & Management L.L.C. in honor of Jennifer. This is a unique story and a tribute to Don's oldest daughter. |
